Philadelphia Eagles Tickets: Celebrating 75 Years of Football

Those buying Philadelphia Eagles tickets this season will be watching games of the team's 75th season in football.  In 1931, a team called the Frankford Yellow Jackets went bankrupt and entered a period of dormancy.  The franchise was awarded to a new group of owners, who changed the name to the Philadelphia Eagles.  The Eagles took their place as another NFL expansion team.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team to have ever won two back-to-back championships through complete shutouts, and they were also the only team to defeat Vince Lombardi's Packers (purchase Green Bay Packers tickets) in a championship game.  Some well-known names have played for the Eagles during the long decades of their existence.  Ron Jaworski, Reggie White, Keith Jackson, Randall Cunningham, Keith Byars, Clyde Simmons, Seth Joyner, Wes Hopkins, Andre Waters, Byron Evans, and Eric Allen.  Several of these players formed what was known as the Gang Green, a fantastic defensive group.  Philadelphia Eagles tickets sold very well at the time.
2006 found the Eagles 10-6, which was counted as a success with all of the difficulties that the team had encountered last year.  Overall, the Philadelphia Eagles performed admirably well, finishing number two in rushing yards while having to completely change playing styles due to the injury of McNabb.  Philadelphia Eagles tickets went through the roof as their fans responded to the team's hardships.
2007 marks the 75th anniversary of the Eagles franchise, and will see the team working hard to improve on their 10-6 record from last season.  McNabb will be back, after a successful knee surgery, but Jeremiah Trotter was released from his contract in a surprise move by the Eagles' management.
The team's first regular season home game will be against the Washington Redskins (Washington Redskins tickets).  The Eagles will finish off the season at home against the Bills (Buffalo Bills tickets).
