Finding the Best Drowsy Chaperone TicketsThe first Drowsy Chaperone tickets became available in 1999 with a spoof of old musicals for the stag party of Bob
Martin. In the beginning, it did not include the traditional Man in Chair, and
the musical renditions ranged from the 1920s to the 1940s with risqué jokes.
When the show was rewritten
later for the Toronto Fringe Festival, the Man in Chair was created to act as a
narrator/commentator for the production. After the Fringe festival, the owner
of a Toronto
commercial theater financed an expanded production of the piece. Because Drowsy Chaperone tickets were
producing favorable results, further development of the script was financed.
The production was highly
successful and, following an engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, The Drowsy Chaperone opened on Broadway
on May 1, 2006
and included 674 performances before it closed on December 30, 2007. The
show is the most successful Broadway musical, and is right up there with The
Phantom of the Opera.
There is currently a North
American tour in progress, so you need to pick your Drowsy Chaperone tickets while
they are still available. The tour is scheduled for some 30 cities, so if you
want to see a production of the most popular musical, you will need to plan
ahead. The tour began in Canada
in September 2007 and will encompass several North American cities.
Knowing where to find the best
tickets to this great production should be first on your list of things to do
in 2008. Don't waste time or you may find that you will be unable to find out
out what all the commotion is about.
