Python goes Musical with Spamalot

For those of you who remember the brilliant lunacy that was Monty Python’s Flying Circus in the 1970s, it should come as no surprise that the Sunday Times states the Python musical Spamalot, “raises silliness to an art form.”  It should also come as no surprise that one of the creators of Spamalot is none other than Pythoner Eric Idle.

The Spamalot team consists of more than just the blonde comedian.  Idle is joined by Mike Nichols who directs Spamalot, and John Du Prez.  Spamalot has taken off and become so successful it boasts a Broadway, Melborne, Las Vegas, London, and US tour ensemble for various productions. Spamalot tickets have sold incredibly well since the show's debut. With the incredible sales of Spamalot tickets, some people have not been able to get the Spamalot tickets that they wanted.

The cast of Spamalot has attracted a wide variety of artists.  Most recently, Clay Aiken, who became famous as a finalist on the television show American idol, has signed on to join the cast of Spamalot.

Attendance has been overwhelming for Spamalot.  Greater Des Moines reports Spamalot had the highest gross run in history for the arena there, and Tulsa reported similar numbers.  Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise, but Spamalot is being highly touted in Las Vegas as well.  Spamalot boasts over forty players playing eight different roles and Eric Idle, one of the originators of Spamalot, has credits for several plays under his belt. With Idle in the cast, it has been a big boost for Spamalot tickets sales.
